The Lost Light was enamored with the small bot. Tenacious and determined to hold hands with everyone, with a “heart of gold”, Wall-e tries to befriend everyone. And in turn becomes matchmaker for some members of the crew.

Wall-e and Rung bond over an accident and Wall-e’s piece is displayed proudly next to Rung’s collection of Ark’s.

Pieces to Ark 7 were missing. Rung hoped to find the pieces on the floor, but it was pristine and recently cleaned. He checked the drawers to his desk, and even his compartments’ compartments, but the pieces no where to be found.

The doors to his office opened suddenly; no large bot entered through the door, but the sound of treads and humming alerted Rung that his tiny friend had come by for a visit. No doubt to show the orange bot some new thing the crew had gifted to Wall-e.

Once the (Earth) waste disposal bot came into view, he signaled for Rung to pick him up and put him on the desk.

“What have you got to show me now little one?”

Wall-e trilled in excitement. He shook as he began to compress what he held in his “belly” (as Swerve had dubbed it), and it was dropped onto his desk.

The cube was composed of metal shavings that Wall-e had gathered from the lab and medibay, and other scraps that Ten had given to him to add to his cubes.

An orange shade caught Rung’s optic. The same shade that belonged to his model was crushed and mixed into the cube.

“Oh dear...”

Wall-e looked up at Rung.

“It seems some of my model pieces got mixed in with your scraps, little one.”

Wall-e startled, and then attempted to remove the orange metal from his cube.

“No. No. It’s quite alright.”

Rung reached for the cube and plucked it out of Wall-e’s reach. “I can always get more pieces for that model any how. I believe these pieces went into something a bit more special.”

The psychiatrist held the cube up to the light, then pondered for a moment.

“Can I have this Wall-e? You made a good decision in picking out the blue hues.”
