Earth: Rung

Rung didn’t mean to stay out so long.

But Earth was so fascinating. Much more than what Swerve’s films had made it out to be. The dew on the little blades of grass, who in turn provided so much for the humans. The humans themselves were so curious, so philosophical.

But what attracted his attention was the ever changing sky, unpredictable weather patterns, so quick to change in eyes. The humans lived with it, the storms with potent winds, the chill of a new season, a breeze on a hot day. He enjoyed it.

The planet’s sky today was not hesitant in surprising him. The sun disappearing on the horizon was beautiful. Yellow rays of light shifted to orange, then faded to red. Then the first star appeared, twinkling in the twilight. A bright moon came into view, a yellow reflection of the star that he saw mere moments ago.

The night settled and he set his sight on the stars above him.

“What a lovely planet,” he whispered to himself.
